Mr. Rockell is a former teacher with nine years experience. He has taught at two London schools, which were Camden School for Girls and South Hampstead High School. His subjects were history and politics.

He is currently Head of Development with Twenty Twenty Television and was also the series producer of the programme.

He has speculated a lot in the press about whether the pupils will be up to the challenge and had had worries in case they walked out. As it turned out they all stuck it out except for two pupils one of whom was expelled and one who left because of concerns for her health. The rest of the pupils stuck it out and many of them actually enjoyed the experience.

Mr. Rockell also taught Religious Education and Art although not featured in the series.
